MOUNT PLEASANT, SC - CalAtlantic Homes, which opened a new phase at Carolina Park towards the end of last year, saw sales of new single-family homes picking up since January. More than half of the homes to be built in the new phase have already been sold.
Gayle Jinks, CalAtlantic’s vice president of sales and marketing in the Charleston region, said Carolina Park’s latest phase has 38 homesites ranging up to one-third acre. Located north of Hwy. 17 on Carolina Park Blvd in Mt. Pleasant and adjacent to protected wetlands, many of the community’s homesites have pond views.
“We’ve seen steady visitor traffic in the first quarter and more sales than we expected,” said Jinks. “Local homebuyers seem to be in the market for a new home in the spring.”
With nine distinct new home designs to choose, the buyers at Carolina Park are a mix of families, singles and empty nesters, according to Carolina Park new home consultant Scott Wurst. “Currently the most popular home this year is our model at Carolina Park – the Coosaw,” he said.
The Coosaw model with four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths in 3,206 square feet of living space with a detached two-car garage is open daily for touring. The home features a large family room, formal dining room, den, a loft, covered lanai and a huge master suite with his and hers closets. Designer options showcased in the decorated model include the gourmet kitchen, luxury tile in shower with dual showerheads and frameless glass doors and a private covered porch off the owner’s suite.
There are also 11 Quick Move-In homes available in Carolina Park that range in price from the low $400s to the mid $500s, Wurst added.
Among the amenities in the community are a junior Olympic size swimming pool with a child-friendly zero-entry, multiple tennis courts and nautical-themed playground. Carolina Park is also close to numerous walking and biking trails. South Carolina’s beaches are minutes from the community as well as Mount Pleasant Towne Center and other cultural, retail, dining and entertainment options in historic Charleston. One of the region’s newest hospitals is within a half mile.
