FrontDoor Communities to Build At Mixson

FrontDoor Communities announced last week that they will build 251 homes in North Charleston’s Mixson community.  Mixson is a mixed-used development near Park Circle that is home to the Mixson Bath & Racquet Club, Basico restaurant and a host of shops.  Mixson is a green community where smart homes offer efficient living and residents can enjoy seasonal produce from the neighborhood farm.

There are existing residential homes at Mixson with some land remaining unbuilt.  FrontDoor is planning 171 single family homes for a portion of the remaining property.  These homes will offer a combination of Lowcountry charm and sleek urban appeal.  Floorplans will range from 1,500 to 3,100 SqFt. Prices are anticipated to run from just under to $300K to over $400K.

There are also plans in the works in conjunction with Eastwood Homes for 80 townhomes.  Townhome size will range from 1,400 to 2,800 SqFt and will be priced from $250K to $300K.

The Post and Courier quoted FrontDoor CEO Terry Russel as saying: “We expect North Charleston to continue its growth trajectory, and we are delighted to be located near Park Circle.  Our residents will enjoy being part of a wonderful community with great parks, restaurants and shops to go along with easy accessibility to the airport and historic downtown Charleston.”

In addition to Mixson Bath & Racquet Club and Basico, Mixson residents can take advantage of the Mixson Market, Flowershop at Mixson and ReGeneration Beauty Spa.  Mixson Farmer’s Market, partnered with GrowFood Carolina offers residents fresh local produce.  The grounds at Mixson abound with grand oak trees and there is a focus on central outdoor spaces interspersed with pocket parks.  A large bark park offers recreation for four-legged friends.

Home sales are currently underway and Mixson and a model home is anticipated to be open by this summer.  You can also find FrontDoor homes building in a variety of other Charleston area neighborhoods including Freeman’s Point (a waterfront community on James Island), at Stonoview (a waterfront community on Johns Island) and at Summers Corner in Summerville.
