MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – Carolina Park, one of the Lowcountry’s premier master-planned communities, announced today that home sales reached record levels in 2016. During that 12-month period, the community saw 190 sales with overall sales exceeding 600 homes since first opening.
“Carolina Park has emerged as one of the most successful communities in the region” said Brian Keels, Development Director at Carolina Park. “Last year we saw tremendous growth throughout the community which is the result of a number of factors. Thoughtful planning, an exceptional team of 8 award-winning builders, and a commitment to stay focused on the things that set us apart.”
Among the most important differentiators is the emphasis on quality education and the creation of a “knowledge hub” within the community. By this time next year, Carolina Park will be home to five of the area’s top-rated schools: award-winning Wando High School, the Center for Advanced Studies at Wando, and The Children’s Center will be joined by Carolina Park Elementary School and Oceanside Collegiate Academy, both of which are currently under construction. In addition, work will begin later this year on a new public library located adjacent to Wando High.
“People always talk about the top-ranked schools,” says Haley Cuzzell, Community Sales Manager.” “But, even beyond the schools, when people visit, they’re always impressed by what they find; the amenities, the variety of home styles, the charming Lowcountry architecture, and the natural beauty of the property. It’s an appealing combination that’s hard to find anywhere else.”
That appeal continues to grow as the offerings continue to expand. Recently, construction began on the new Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park, a senior living community that will offer 130 apartments and 12 freestanding cottages. The community will cater to seniors living an active lifestyle, as well as to those in need of assisted living and memory care.
“From the beginning, we’ve been committed to delivering a well-rounded and vibrant community,” says Keels. “That means offering high quality educational opportunities, but it also means creating an environment that’s inclusive and connective – a place where it’s easy for new neighbors to get to know each another. A place with trails, parks and gathering spots where people can spend time together.”
“Last year we introduced several new residential neighborhoods, a new fire/police station, plus the outdoor pavilion and Great Lawn at the Residents Club,” recalled Ms. Cuzzell. “This year, two new schools will open, construction on a new library will begin, and we’ll introduce new residential sections in both The Village and Riverside. It’s going to be very exciting, and we think homebuyers will agree.”
And while 2016 was a record year in terms of growth and sales, there’s every indication that Carolina Park could experience even greater success in the coming year.
“We’ll continue to strive to provide our residents with choices and experiences that create a rich, dynamic lifestyle they won’t find anywhere else,” concluded Keels. “We want to make sure that Carolina Park is a special place to live now, and fifty years from now.”
Carolina Park is located off Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Along with highly ranked schools including Wando High School, the Wando Center for Advanced Studies, the future Carolina Park Elementary School (opening August 2017), Oceanside Collegiate Academy charter high school (under construction), the property also incorporates Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital, two churches and miles of trails for hiking and biking. Featuring townhomes, cottage homes, classic single-family homes and Riverside custom homes from eight of the region’s premier builders, Village homes start in the $300s while homes in Riverside range from the $600s to more than $1 million.
