If you are in the market to shop for a new home, or just love peeking behind the doors of these gorgeous newly constructed homes, then carve out some time between September 18-20 for the Charleston New Homes Tour. Hosted by the Charleston Home Builders Association, this tour is back for the first time since 2008 and will showcase some of the region’s best builders and new home communities, including Brock Built Homes, Carnes Crossroads, David Weekley Homes, John Wieland Homes, Kolter, Pulte, Sabal Homes and Saussy Burbank. The tour seeks to promote healthy growth and advocate for new homes and neighborhoods in the Charleston metro area, according to Phillip Ford, current Executive Vice President at the Charleston Home Builders Association (CHBA).
The weekend tour will include 40 homes throughout the tri-county starting in the $250s ranging to more than $1 million. CHBA offers a map of the homes featured on the tour, such as Kolter Homes’ models at the award-winning Ponds and Cresswind at The Ponds. There is a new adventure every day at Cresswind, and this wonderfully integrated gated community set amongst the grand oaks and historic trails inspires active adults to live life to the fullest. With homes specifically designed for residents 55 and older, Cresswind features two-, three- and four-bedroom ranch-style floorplans with first-floor master suites. Residents also enjoy unparalleled amenities, such as a private clubhouse with a fitness center, resort-style amenities, and an activities director who helps organize a wide variety of socializing and networking opportunities.
Though only the Hickory model will be featured on the tour this weekend, you can actually visit all eight of Kolter’s models when you stop by, making Cresswind definitely worth the visit. Tour the approximately 2,136 SF Hickory from $300s and features three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and a two-car garage. The Hickory is part of the Tidewater Collection, as is the Oakside, which also features three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a two-car garage, and is approximately 2,420 SF. Prices for the Oakside begin in the low $320s. The five other homes in Kolter’s model row are from their Sawgrass Collection, and you will love touring the delightful Ashford, Beachwood, Cypress, Dogwood and Fir. Prices for these homes range from the high $230s to the mid $280s and vary between approximately 1,454 and 2,868 SF.
Also on the Charleston New Homes Tour is Kolter’s Archer model at The Ponds. The single-family home, which starts at $269,990, features two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is approximately 1,817 SF. This amenity-rich community includes miles of walking trails, a pool, two ponds, and a lake for fishing and canoeing. There’s also a restored farmhouse, amphitheater, a multi-sport field and an on-site YMCA. The Ponds is located near the acclaimed Dorchester District II schools, which are ranked within the top five of any South Carolina district. Move-in ready homes are also available.
The Ponds’ Welcome Center is open Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm and Saturdays 12-5. The Ponds is located at 324 Hundred Oaks Parkway. Cresswind’s model row can be found at 467 Hundred Oaks Parkway in Summerville.
