With live music, fresh produce, and family-friendly activities, Carnes Crossroads officially unveiled its new Agrihood during a grand opening celebration designed to highlight the growing community’s agricultural roots and expanding list of amenities.
The event welcomed residents and visitors to explore the farm-to-table lifestyle now taking shape in this new community by Lennar, offering garden tours, food tastings, and opportunities to meet the team behind the neighborhood’s working farm.
At the center of the Agrihood is a professionally managed, organic community farm, overseen by Agrihood Director Christopher Burtt and supported by Emery Tumbleston and a team of local experts. Residents have access to a seasonal farm share program featuring a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs—from beets and sweet potatoes to figs and muscadines. A Farm Store, open to the public, stocks locally made goods year-round, including candles, cheeses, and honey.
New additions to the community include a You-Pick Garden and a Children’s Learning Garden. These interactive spaces allow residents of all ages to engage with nature, learn about plant life, and harvest their own produce. A Tiny Library and outdoor musical instruments add creative and educational touches for younger residents.
Among the most anticipated amenities now open is The Perch, a resort-style pool accompanied by a three-story waterslide. Designed for residents and their guests, the facility offers a new way to cool off and connect during South Carolina’s warm months.
The Lakehouse, a community gathering hub, also made its debut. It serves as a casual meeting place for events, work-from-home hours, or a quick stop at the Fresh Picks Café for coffee or Boba tea. Fire kettles located nearby provide a quiet setting for residents to unwind in the evenings.
Adjacent to the Lakehouse is the Wellness Center, which features cardio equipment, weights, yoga, and meditation spaces. Staffed by professional instructors, the center supports the active lifestyles of Carnes Crossroads residents.
Sports facilities have also expanded with the opening of new tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. Equipment is available at no charge through the community’s Lending Locker, making spontaneous games easy for all ages.
For families with children, the newly opened Bumble Bee Park adds to the neighborhood’s recreational offerings with features like a slide hill and zipline, blending natural surroundings with modern play structures.
With its combination of agriculture, outdoor amenities, and community-centered design, Carnes Crossroads continues to grow as a master-planned development rooted in wellness, sustainability, and everyday connection to nature.
