Point Hope
John Bartlam-Inspired Pottery Painting Class
Aug 1st, 6-8pm
Bring your favorite beverage and join Point Hope for a hands-on and history-filled evening at The Hub with Pluff Mud Pottery. Paint your own pottery, grab a light bite from the snack platter and learn about America’s first porcelain manufacturer and Cainhoy legend, John Bartlam.
Who is John Bartlam?
John Bartlam, originally from the UK, is one of America’s most famous potters whose work can be found across the globe.
After migrating to Charleston in the early 1760s to open a refined pottery manufactory, he discovered high-quality natural clay in Cain Hoy. From there his legacy began and Cain Hoy’s invaluable resource soon led to the birth of his signature and historically recognized blue and white porcelain china.

National Night Out

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
