Cresswind Charleston, by Kolter Homes, is continuing to experience steady growth, offering those shopping for active adult housing in the Summerville area a great option with a variety of housing choices. As the Post and Courier recently reported, one of the great benefits of Cresswind is that future homebuyers can see it all—from walking the eight decorated models to touring the extensive amenities. Kolter Homes, the Florida-based company, intentionally built amenities upfront so that they can be enjoyed by homeowners from the get-go. Cresswind communities are known throughout the country for their amenities and Cresswind Charleston is no exception. A 12,000 SF clubhouse offers a bevy of exercise options from yoga to ballroom dancing. Residents can also stay active at the swimming pool, tennis or pickle ball courts. The resort-style clubhouse also offers a dining hall and a host of daily activities.
Tucked amidst the grand oaks and preserved wetlands of The Ponds community, 142 newly introduced homesites at Cresswind will mark the beginning of the fourth phase of construction for the popular Summerville neighborhood. Homesites are sized around 50 to 60 feet by 120 feet and many have a scenic backdrop of conservation area that highlights the Lowcountry’s natural beauty. Cresswind is slated for a total of 600 homes, 100 of which are currently constructed.
The sales process at Cresswind is designed with homebuyers in mind. The model homes are conveniently arranged in a model row, giving homebuyers the opportunity to easily compare layouts and features, finding the floorplan that will best suit their needs. These mostly single-story floorplans range from just over 1,400 SF to over 2,800 SF. All of the floorplans are graced with nine foot ceilings and optional design choices such as trey ceilings and sunrooms in lieu of patios. Granite counters come standard, soon to be accompanied by stainless appliances. All homes include a two-car garage. Once a homebuyer selects their floorplan they can visit the design center and enjoy the extensive selection of designer finishes, selecting the perfect accents and fixtures for their new home. Once choices are finalized it typically takes about six months from the time of contract until the home is ready for move-in. Home prices begin in the $240’s.
Residents at Cresswind can enjoy the additional amenities of The Ponds as part of their monthly $250 homeowners association fee. The historic Farmhouse includes a swimming pool, vineyards and gathering area nestled amongst majestic oak trees. A dog station and 40 miles of walking trails are also available. Cresswind is an age restricted community designed with active adults in mind, meaning that everyone residing in the home needs to be at least 18 years of age. Kolter Homes also offers traditional single-family style homes at The Ponds priced from the $270’s. Their model row features nine decorated models offering a variety of one- and two-story floorplans.
