Summerville’s Nexton is abuzz with activity as we move into spring. Saussy Burbank will soon open a new decorated model home. Lowcountry Hotels has revealed plans to build a 10,000 SF Conference Center, to be accompanied by a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. The Saussy Burbank model is scheduled to open this spring and construction on the new Nexton hotels is anticipated to start by the end of 2017 with the facilities opening in 2019.
Saussy Burbank is soon to open a brand new model home. The Mulberry floorplan is a four bedroom three and a half bathroom home measuring in at 3,065 SF. It features a downstairs master suite, screened-in porch and everything you need for the picture-perfect home! A unique design feature is an additional unit above the garage that provides the perfect efficient space for in-laws, teenagers or as a rental unit. The model will open soon but in the meantime, visit 240 Great Lawn Drive to tour a move-in ready Mulberry floorplan.

The new hotels and conference center are to be built on a 5.9 acre parcel of land within the mater-planned Nexton Community. Cumulatively, they will have 250 guest rooms. President of Westrock Land and Development (the company that developed Nexton) is quoted as saying: “The addition of these hotels will help serve the growing business clientele of Nexton and surrounding areas as well as provide much-needed conference space in the Summerville area.” The two new hotels will join an existing Court Yard Marriott and a Residence Inn (operated by Marriott) that is currently under construction. According to Lowcountry Hotels President, Scott Fennell: “There is no question Nexton is ideally situated with leading businesses and local attractions. Our conference center will be poised as a top hotel/meeting center for locals and out-of-town guests alike.”
In addition to the hotels, Nexton is currently home to a variety of retail including restaurants, a bank and a Volvo dealership, to name a few. Residents will also enjoy the convenience of resources such as an award-winning school within the community and a primary care physician. Residents at Nexton enjoy GigaFi, the state’s fastest internet connection. Voted 2015’s best Master Planned Community, Nexton is both amenity rich and ideally located. You will find Nexton in the heart of the Berkeley County growth corridor, just off of Highway 17-A and I-26.
